The short version

Almost everything stays on your headset. The one thing that leaves it is a crash report, tied to no one, so that crashes can be fixed. There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on the device

Your consent record, saved cards, labs and programmes, imported passages and music, the dials of every session, and anything a lab records are stored on your headset only. Head and hand tracking are read by the device to place the field and follow your hands, and are never stored or sent. Apple Music playlists, if you allow access, are listed on the device and nothing about your library leaves it.

What is sent, and to whom

When the app crashes, a report is sent to Google's Firebase Crashlytics service on the next launch. It holds the crash's stack, the app version, the device model and system version, and a random installation identifier that is not linked to you. It is used only to find and fix the fault. Performance data about launches may travel the same way. Nothing else is collected, and no analytics product is included.

Purchases

The Brain Lab subscription is sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment, renewal and cancellation, and shares no payment details with the app. The app only learns whether a subscription is active.

Sharing programmes

A programme you share as a file or a link is sent by you, through whatever channel you choose, and contains only the programme's words and settings. The app publishes nothing on your behalf.

Children

The app is rated for ages 13 and up and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change is announced in the app.
